William Shatner may have gone to space on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin, but apparently Tom Hanks got the offer first.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, the host asked Hanks to confirm the rumours — and his response was spectacularly blunt.
"Well yeah, provided I pay," Hanks says in the clip above. "It costs like $28 million or something like that. And I'm doing good Jimmy — I'm doing good — but I ain't paying $28 million. You know what, we could simulate the experience of going to space right now."
Hanks then proceeds to embark on some impromptu acting that sees him shaking in his chair (takeoff), floating around for a few minutes in his chair (the space bit), and then shaking some in his chair (landing).
"I don't need to spend 28 million bucks to do that."
