
Boris Johnson has returned home.
After a week battling "persistent" coronavirus symptoms, the British Prime Minister left London's St. Thomas' Hospital on Sunday to continue his recovery at his country house, Chequers. Johnson announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 on March 27, was admitted to the hospital in early April, and spent three nights in the intensive care unit after his symptoms worsened.
"I have seen the personal courage not just of the doctors and nurses but of everyone: the cleaners, the cooks, the health care workers of every description, physios, radiographers, pharmacists, who have kept coming to work, kept putting themselves in harm's way, kept risking this deadly virus," Johnson said in an emotional address.
