
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed he has tested positive for the new coronavirus (COVID-19) after developing "mild symptoms" over the last 24 hours.
In a video, Johnson said he had a temperature and a persistent cough. He is now self-isolating but said he would continue to "lead the government's response" to coronavirus via video-conference.
"On the advice of the chief medical officer, that has come out positive so I am working from home, I'm self-isolating, and that's entirely the right thing to do," said 55-year-old Johnson.
"But be in no doubt that I can continue — thanks to the wizardry of modern technology — to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fight back against coronavirus," he added. Read more...
