The number of states that recognize the second Monday of October as Indigenous Peoples' Day (instead of Columbus Day) is growing by the year.
The online sales surrounding the holiday, however, are still referred to as Columbus Day sales by most retailers. (*Gag*) No matter what you call it, one thing that's guaranteed this weekend is saving some serious money on home and tech items.
The last major shopping holiday before Black Friday also falls in the midst of many of the annual fall sales. Like Labor Day, mattresses, 4K TVs, appliances and cookware, and clothing are seeing pretty hefty discounts. While you'll probably be able to find a better mattress deal on Black Friday, this weekend's kitchen and home deals are pretty in-line with what you should expect to see in the holiday season.
