
Game of Thrones ended with a a storm of contention, particularly around the final arcs of Jaime Lannister and Ser Brienne of Tarth, but the show's composer confirmed that he imagined a very different ending for them.
Ramin Djawadi, who scored all eight seasons of Thrones, loves a good musical motif, and he snuck a deliberate repetition of Robb and Talisa's Season 2 theme into Brienne's final scene. Brienne and Jaime may not have ended up married and happily ever after, but they could have, and that's what makes their entire story so heartbreaking.
"It's just a hint of what their relationship — if they had stayed together, if he was still alive — what it could have been," Djawadi told Insider. "What they could have become. That's why I put that in there." Read more...
