Chance the Rapper spoke at a Chicago City Council meeting to protest a new $95 million police facility

No matter how big Chance the Rapper gets, he remains a Chicagoan through and through.

The rapper has used his ever expanding platform in support of Chicago Public Schools and communities he grew up in. Now, he's using it to oppose $95 million spending proposal on a new police training facility, joining the #NoCopAcademy movement in the Windy City. 

The City Council voted on Wednesday 48-1 in favor of spending $10 million for the land of which the training facility will be built. This is one of the first steps the city has taken to make the proposed academy a reality.
