Is the mince pie croissant Britain's answer to a cronut?

We Brits have, for too long, looked to our cronut-wielding American friends in envy. But, we're about to get our very own British version of a cronut—a mince pie croissant. 

UK bakery Paul is launching a hybrid of the French pastry and the iconic British pie in time for the festive period with what could very well be the British equivalent of a cronut (the American croissant-doughnut hybrid). 

For those unfamiliar with the concept of a mince pie, it's a small sweet pie bursting with dried fruits and spices—a.k.a. mincemeat—that's eaten in the UK in the run-up to Christmas.  Read more...
