U2 canceled a show in St. Louis scheduled for Saturday night amid citywide protests over the Friday acquittal of police officer Jason Stockley, who shot a black driver five times after a car chase and was charged with first-degree murder.

"We have been informed by the St. Louis Police Department that they are not in a position to provide the standard protection for our audience as would be expected for an event of this size.
We have also been informed that local crowd security personnel would not be at full capacity," U2 said in a joint statement with Live Nation.
