For years, Game of Thrones fans have longed for one meeting: That of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, united by their blind idealism and good hearts. It took seven years (many more for ASoIaF readers) for fire and ice to meet, and studdenly there's palpable chemistry warming up the drafty rooms of Dragonstone.
But here's the thing: We now know that Jon is not, in fact, Ned Stark's bastard, but Lyanna Stark's, with Rhaegar Targaryen — Daenerys' brother. That's upsetting and convoluted yet we somehow still might ship these characters...?
