That's what Matt Bomer said to me when I introduced myself on the set of Amazon Studios' latest drama, The Last Tycoon.
I was there not on a set visit but as a set extra, playing a reporter in the 1930s. He looked sharp, I looked unrecognizable.
The show — based off F. Scott Fitzgerald’s final work — follows Hollywood's golden boy, Monroe Stahr (Bomer), who battles his father figure and boss Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer). Lily Collins co-stars as Brady's daughter Cecelia. It's set in the 1930s, one of my favorite time periods.
So when asked if I was interested in being an extra for a behind-the-scenes story, my immediate answer was "of course." Read more...
