One day after its campaign launched on Kickstarter, a Game of Thrones-inspired board game has already received more than 200% of its fundraising goal.
A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game launched on Kickstarter Tuesday, combining George R.R. Martin's fantasy world with tactical tabletop board gaming and paintable miniatures. The project asked for $300,000 to produce the board game and reached its goal in less than an hour. At the time of reporting, the project has earned over $630,000 in pledges.
The board game pits players against each other as the North (the Starks and their allies) and the South (the Lannisters and their allies) in tactical warfare in what looks like a mix between Stratego, Risk, and role-playing games, but with added elements of political intrigue. Read more...
