Ticket scalpers are ruining the first-ever 'Pokémon Go' festival

Pokémon Go Fest is coming to Chicago next month, but if you missed out on getting a ticket in the initial sale, you're gonna have to shell out a couple hundred bucks to ticket scalpers. 

Tickets for Niantic's Pokémon Go Fest went on sale Monday morning, but the $20 tickets sold out in 15 minutes, Polygon reported today. Scalpers turned around and put the tickets up for sale through third party resellers like eBay and Stubhub with individual ticket prices ranging from $150 to $1,000.

Pokémon Go Fest, Niantic's first festival around their wildly popular mobile game, will take place July 22 at Grant Park in Chicago. Along with having an opportunity to meet up with other Pokémon Go fans, attendees will get increased Pokémon encounters, access to special PokéStops, and the chance to work with other players to complete challenges.
