Top Gun doesn't strike as a film that needs a sequel, but you're getting one anyway.
Tom Cruise confirmed he's filming Top Gun 2 within the "next year". He made the announcement on the Australian TV show Sunrise — a rather unexpected place to calmly reveal such news.
"I'm going to start filming it probably in the next year. I know. It's happening. It is definitely happening," Cruise told the program. "You're the first people that I've said this to."
While there have been murmurs of a sequel to the 1986 film for 30 years, the death of Top Gun's director Tony Scott stalled those plans. Read more...
