In honor of Mother’s Day on May 14, we interviewed people to learn about the “MOM-isms” they often heard while growing up and aren’t soon to forget.

Rachel Starr, who lives in San Francisco, says, “I haven’t had the best luck in relationships and my mom is always the one I turn to when things don’t work out. She’s been married to my dad for 37 years so obviously they’ve done something right.
