One of Street Fighter V's latest DLC stages, Thailand Temple Hideout (from Street Fighter II), was pulled off the marketplace because of its background music yesterday. The music behind the Buddhist-themed stage contained Islamic prayers — not something Capcom intended.
The Islamic prayers in the stage's background music were translated by a Muslim Redditor who goes by Venom44. According to them, the lyrics include references to Allah and the line "By the name of the God, the most merciful."
Capcom did not say that the specific religion was the reason why the stage was pulled, just that the music contained "unintentional religious references." It was likely pulled due to incongruity between the Buddhist imagery and the Islamic music. Read more...
