Mascot saves kid from foul ball and gets paid back in the cutest way

Softball games bare untold dangers at every corner — fly balls, slippery floors, uh, mostly the balls, we guess. They're concussion machines, basically. 

That's why, when a foul ball was headed straight for a young boy sitting in the stands at a University of Florida softball game, it looked like disaster was on the way. That's when his guardian gator, Albert the Alligator, stepped in. 

Albert, UF's mascot and one-half of the celebrity mascot couple Albert and Alberta, sacrificed his snout to protect the boy, blocking the ball from making impact by deflecting it off his nose.  Read more...
