There are a few hard and fast rules in life and one of them is this: never call a fat person pregnant or a pregnant person fat.
It’s pretty simple, really. Yet a Dutch TV show managed to piss off everyone recently with a segment called, “Fat or pregnant?” Oops. It was part of “Neem je zwemspullen mee,” a satirical game show that began airing last week. Its name translates to "Take your swimming gear with you," and it features a variety of challenges and guest stars.
The offending segment, in which the two presenters tried to guess whether women were pregnant or fat, was meant to be funny. But, naturally, a lot of people didn’t think it was. Read more...
