Gorillaz had plenty existential distress to work with when crafting their first album in six years, Humanz. In a new interview with Q Magazine, Damon Albarn discussed the "pain, joy and urgency" of living in the modern age amongst Trump supporters.
So he had the following prompt for the album's many collaborators including Grace Jones and Pusha T: “I told everyone to imagine you’re in America after the inauguration and it’s the worst-case scenario: how would you feel that night? Let’s make a party record about the world going fucking nuts.”
