If you're going to put cheese on a pizza, why stop at one? Why, indeed?
A pizza place in Portland, Oregon, took this pizza-stential question very seriously, deciding they had nothing to lose by totally just going for it. So, as part of an annual Portland celebration of pizza, Scottie's Pizza Parlor created a pie using 101 cheeses.
The pie is called the Centouno Formaggio, and, according to Scottie Pizza Parlor's website, it was inspired by the 99-cheese pizza from the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In fact, Australian pizzamaker Johnny di Francesco did create a 99-cheese pizza in real life to prove it could be done. But Scottie's Pizza Parlor wanted to do one (or, actually two) better.
